Profemur® Z hip stem
Zweymüller stem philosophy
A fourth generation design of the Zweymuller rectangular dual taper stem, the Profemur® Z hip stem is designed on the premise that there are advantages to placing a square peg in a round hole. With an optional proximal plasma spray designed for press fit, the square corners of the rectangular cross section wedge into cortical bone for rotational rigidity. By placing this rectangular cross section into a cylindrical femoral canal, cancellous bone is conserved to allow increased vascularization along the entire length of the stem.
